I know that for our blog updates we are supposed to either upload pictures of our artwork or write about something that has to do about art, but im gonna write about college...but it actually has to do with art. Like the art programs at the schools im deciding between.
So I went to Eugene this weekend to visit some of my friends and I was talking to one of them about the art programs at University of Oregon. I do not know what I want to study next year, all I know is that I want to take art classes and english classes because those are my strengths. Oregon has good journalism classes I want to take, but I do not know that much about the art program, but people there I was talking to said that they really really enjoyed it, so that made me more excited about it. I just gotta research it more.

My second choice for college is USF (University of San Francisco). I think I have been wanting to go to this school since I was a little girl. But I probably won't because I cannot afford to fly home for holidays and things, let alone pay for tuition (since I gotta pay for college myself). But I am really interested in the art program there, and it gets me all excited!!

I get really stressed out thinking about next year and all the stuff I gotta do to get ready for college, and it just seems silly to me...especially since i have two concentration pieces to finish :/ !!!!

WOOOO
herrrooo
sooo i'm updating my blog tonight,
and I was walking around today and everywhere I looked I saw reflections...which is so weird, because lately I have been having panic/anxiety attacks over what the heck i was doing with my concentration! But I realized that I just need to let loose and have fun with this. Like today, the sun was out and there were reflections EVERYWHERE. Because the light was playing cool tricks across everything. I need to keep my eyes peeled for reflections in unusual places. I am working on a painting of a little girl jumping in puddles and I am very excited. If anyone has any reflection ideas please let me know!
Alright I should probably go to bed now, I am excited for art class and to keep working on my painting.

mehhh
So I guess I am gonna evaluate myself so far for first semester.
At the beginning of the year I think I kinda struggled to keep up with the Jesse Reno and A to Z and Scholastic Challenge projects because I missed alot of days when I had swine. But I think I finally caught up. I am going to be truthful and say that I do not like any of my concentrations at all. Okay thats a lie I like the mirror one thats reflecting pearls. I guess I am just not impressed with my own work at all and need to pick it up. :[ boo. Oh well it is second semester now, time to turn it around and get going!

Concentration/Portfolio Day/Scholastic/Whistling Season

For my concentration I am working on reflections, and I am also doing the Whistling Season thing too, so I am gonna try to make it work together haha. I am thinking I am going to do a painting of swans and their like fluttering wings in a lake, and try to have a reflection of that! I was thinking of painting the actual swans and collaging the reflection..I dunno, we will see what happens.
I went to the portfolio day thing. I saw three colleges, Corcoran or something? In Washington D.C., that lady was my favorite, she gave me great feedback which made me happy haha. Then I saw the San Fran Art Institute because my mom made me, because I might be attending USF next year and she is jacked that it was close by. That lady gave me lots of helpful artists to look at and a book to buy which was nice. The third college I looked at was the Pratt one, and the ladies there were not very impressed with my scholastic portfolio haha, they wanted me to have more self portraits, and they kept talking about ellipses...and drawing brocholli in the fridge...I really dont know what they were talking about. But I think they thought my little portfolio thing was me trying to apply to their school, so it was confusing. But overall it was a great experience.
I am looking forward to the Scholastic Reception, my mommy and grandparents are going, and they are so excited haha.

About my Concentration!!!!!
My rough draft ish Concentration Statement:
My concentration is focused on the idea of reflections. The artwork that I am creating will explore the ideas of finding reflections in normal and not so normal places: a mirror, surface of water, a teapot, etc. I hope to play with the lighting and color that is reflected across surfaces and objects to stretch the idea of reflections. I will use different media and images to express my opinion and views on reflections.
I am not quite sure what to say for my statement, but that is the best I can do right now. I know as the year progresses and my artwork is produced the statement will fall into place!!
