About my Concentration!!!!!

My rough draft ish Concentration Statement:

My concentration is focused on the idea of reflections. The artwork that I am creating will explore the ideas of finding reflections in normal and not so normal places: a mirror, surface of water, a teapot, etc. I hope to play with the lighting and color that is reflected across surfaces and objects to stretch the idea of reflections. I will use different media and images to express my opinion and views on reflections.


I am not quite sure what to say for my statement, but that is the best I can do right now. I know as the year progresses and my artwork is produced the statement will fall into place!!

Hello

Sooooo this weekend I went to eugene to visit some of my old friends and i walked around the campus and got sooo excited for college next year. and im pretty much done with high school and its too stressful. and im all excited to either go to osu or u of o and take some of the art classes there i think ill be really happy.

anyways, i made my portfolio for the scholastic thing, and surprisingly it turned out pretty well, and that was exciting, anyways yeah im proud of myself.

Here are some of my sketch book assignments!!!
I actually like doing sketch book assignments every week, and when i bruised my tailbone i even did a still-life/ drew from observation!!! (crazy, i know. i never draw from observation)







p.s. i saw new moon yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! it was amazing :] i am team jacob for sure. i know i will be hated for this but oh well, i can't help it!

My Weekend!!

This weekend I went to the beach to celebrate my dads 50th birthday!!
wooo! the weather was pretty rainy, but it was pretty relaxing and fun.
I went on lots of hikes to waterfalls, and walks on the beach, and of course went to the Tillamook cheese factory and had cheese curd (because its amazing).
I drew some and made some bracelets (which is art related!!!)
Plus I read some of the whistling season for art.

Anyways, I am having anxiety for my concentration.
Everyone seems to have GREAT ideas, and i can't think of anything yet!
I am starting to freak out, :[.

Concentration Stuff

So I was reading Ms. McB's blog and i noticed a website she asked for us to look at to get an idea of concentrations students submitted in the past. Alot I was very impressed with and some, not so much. The ones I was really impressed with were the ones that were well thought out and detailed. For example, a boy started out with the idea of transportation, but then he started focusing more on just bicycles. The more thoughtout and original the concentration, the more the judges liked it. This website was really helpful and it gave me lots of ideas and encouragement to just go for it! I am very excited to pick a concentration :]

Halloween

this halloween was pretty fun. i dressed up with about ten to twelve other kids as part of a train. we called ourselves the "ghost train". it was pretty clever i think. except that we were wearing boxes which was funny. But it has some of mine and the other jordan's artistic ability on it!! jordan did one of his famous faces on the side of my box, but i did the rest. it was fun, but i still cant breathe well from all of the spray paint. yayyy for halloween :] :] :]

Just Some Stuff

I found some old portraits I took of people last year during photography class.
I had not seen them in awhile, so I thought I might as well put them up.
Maybe I could do something cool with them, like the collage we made last year
in Art 3/4 (I put the picture on here of the one I did last year). I dunno we will see. My favorite one is the tiny one but I am bummed that when I try to make it bigger it gets super blurry. Oh well.

Field Trip Slash Jesse Reno Workshop

Last week was so fun,
because
first of all we got to skip school to hang out in Portland all day and eat donuts
and take pictures and look at art. That was pretty cool.
Out of all the galleries we visited and artists we saw my
favorite is by far Rick Bartow and Nell Warren.

On Saturday I went to the Jesse Reno workshop,
and truthfully did not know WHAT to expect.
IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.
i still have paint on my fingernails...
I didn't make any art that I like, but I got alot of
inspiration and really enjoyed watching a real artist in work.
It was so much fun, thank you ms. mcb for organizing that for us!

I am also pretty excited about to A to Z assignment.
