AP 2-D FINAL

this is my final blog update of my senior year and forever!!!
Good bye everybodyyyy!!!

Advice: Dear future AP students- pick a concentration YOU LOVE. you are dealing with it ALL year and have to make twelve pieces of art. Have fun with it!! Try new things and different techniques, don't play safe! Also, do not save all your pieces to the last night, you will not produce your best work, and you will be overly stressed!! Take advantage of the time given in class to work, the materials so kindly provided, and the opinion and critique of the teacher and students. And last but not least, enjoy the AP art show. That is your time to shine and show off your hard work and great art.

Favorite Piece:

My two favorite pieces of the year were my cars and feet. I really liked the style I did them both in: black and white and with intense contrasting highlights. The cars are my favorite favorite and the feet are second most liked. I chose to keep them for myself and not sell them because I am proud of them :]

Learn: I learned alot about myself as an artist this year. For instance, I learned that I do have talent!! I was recognized with one of the NAHS scholarships and that was definitely a boost to my confidence. I learned that I can power out a fairly decent piece of art the day before, and I also learned that the more time and detail and effort I spent in a piece of art, the prouded I was and the more accomplished I felt. I also learned how much I am going to miss my art family next year.

Event/Activity I got the most out of this year: I thought that the bookmaking was so much fun!!! I still have my sketchbook and love it :] it is so fun to make art in something that is art itself!! Also, I really thought the Scholastic Art Awards were really fun. It was an amazing feeling to win regional art awards for the pieces I had worked so hard on and was proud of. Seeing all of the pieces of art of other award winning students was pretty inspirational too. Probably my favorite memory of the year was the downtown fieldtrip in Portland. It was so much fun to run around downtown with a camera and explore the city and take fun pictures and meet new people and visit art galleries!! It was a great experience. And lastly, I loved the Ap Art Show. It felt amazing to talk about my art to so many people and showcase my hard work!!!

10 years: In ten years I see myself as either a nutritionist/ personal trainer or a graphic artist, working at a magazine. I will be married and live in a cute little house with a cute little front porch. I will either be living in Washington or Oregon, because I love the Northwest and the rain and the green trees too much to part!!! I will still be making art of course.

Poem: I Carry Your Heart With Me - e.e. cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it inmy heart) i am never without it(anywherei go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet) i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)and it's you are whatever a moon has always meantand whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows(here is the root of the root and the bud of the budand the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which growshigher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars aparti carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
